Tour Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival at NJP / Bagdogra → Gangtok (125 km / 4.5 hrs)

Welcome to the enchanting Himalayas! Upon arrival at NJP railway station or Bagdogra airport, you’ll be greeted by our friendly Urbntrip tour manager. Begin your scenic drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, following the sparkling Teesta River Valley through lush forests and misty mountains. En route, enjoy photo stops and soak in the cool mountain breeze. On arrival, check-in at your deluxe hotel and relax. In the evening, stroll along MG Marg, a pedestrian-only boulevard lined with cafes and shops.

After breakfast, start your day exploring Gangtok’s top attractions. Visit the serene Tashi View Point, offering panoramic vistas of Mt Kanchenjunga, followed by Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok — hilltop shrines surrounded by pine forests. Continue to Enchey Monastery, a 200-year-old gem known for its tranquil charm. Later, explore the Flower Exhibition Centre near Ridge Park, home to vibrant orchids and seasonal blooms. Visit Do Drul Chorten, one of Sikkim’s most sacred stupas, and the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, preserving ancient Buddhist manuscripts and artifacts.
Evening at leisure for local shopping or café hopping.

After an early breakfast, set off for a full-day excursion to the iconic Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft) — a glacial lake that mirrors the surrounding snow-clad peaks. In winter, it freezes completely, creating a surreal landscape. You can enjoy a yak ride or sip hot tea by the lakeside. Continue to the legendary Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, dedicated to an Indian Army soldier revered as the “Hero of Sikkim.” Subject to permits and weather, you may also visit Nathula Pass (14,140 ft) on the Indo-China border — a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Today, begin your North Sikkim adventure. After breakfast, drive through scenic mountain roads toward Lachen (8,800 ft), a quiet Himalayan hamlet surrounded by alpine meadows and waterfalls. En route, stop at the spectacular Seven Sisters Waterfalls for pictures. Enjoy mesmerizing views of mountain villages and dense rhododendron forests as you ascend. On arrival, check-in at your hotel or homestay. The evening is free to unwind and acclimatize to the higher altitude.

Start early today for a thrilling drive to the sacred Gurudongmar Lake (17,800 ft) — one of the highest lakes in the world. The crystal-clear waters against snow-dusted mountains make it a sight to behold. After spending some serene moments, return to Lachen for breakfast and continue your drive to Lachung (8,600 ft). The route passes through conifer forests, waterfalls, and valleys of wildflowers. On arrival in Lachung, check into your cozy resort and enjoy a peaceful evening in the mountains.

After breakfast, head to the breathtaking Yumthang Valley, known as the “Valley of Flowers”, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and dotted with rhododendrons (in bloom during April–June). Visit the nearby Hot Springs, believed to have medicinal properties. Spend time amid the tranquil scenery before returning to Lachung for lunch. Post-lunch, drive back to Gangtok along scenic routes, reaching by evening.

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before departing for Pelling, a charming town nestled in West Sikkim. The journey offers spectacular views of mountains, rivers, and rural landscapes. On arrival, check into your hotel or resort. Spend your evening unwinding with panoramic views of Mt Kanchenjunga or exploring the local bazaar for handicrafts and souvenirs.

After breakfast, set out to explore Pelling’s famous landmarks — starting with the serene Khecheopalri Lake, considered a wish-fulfilling lake. Visit the Pemayangtse Monastery, one of Sikkim’s oldest monasteries, followed by the Pelling Skywalk and the Rabdentse Ruins, the 17th-century royal capital of Sikkim. Later, continue your journey to Darjeeling, the “Queen of Hills.” On arrival, check-in and relax.

Early morning, drive to Tiger Hill (8,482 ft) to witness a golden sunrise over the majestic Mt Kanchenjunga — an unforgettable moment of your Sikkim Darjeeling 10 day tour. On your return, visit the Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop, where the famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railway makes a scenic spiral turn. After breakfast, explore the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, and a picturesque tea garden, where you can sample freshly brewed Darjeeling tea. Spend your evening at leisure exploring Mall Road.

After breakfast, bid farewell to the Himalayas. Drive down through scenic valleys to NJP railway station or Bagdogra airport for your onward journey. As your Sikkim Darjeeling tour ends, you’ll carry back unforgettable memories of snow-clad peaks, mountain monasteries, and warm local hospitality.
