The trip also takes you to the hallowed grounds of Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga in Deoghar, and culminates in the colonial grandeur and bustling markets of Kolkata. Along the way you’ll stay in 3-star hotels/resorts, enjoy included meals (dinner from Day 1 and breakfast on Day 12), be guided by an experienced tour manager, and travel in comfort with all transfer logistics handled. Whether you’re drawn by temple pilgrimages, scenic beaches, heritage cities or group travel camaraderie, this tour offers a seamless, all-inclusive experience in one of India’s lesser-explored yet deeply rewarding travel corridors.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival at Bhubaneswar (The City of Temples)

Arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport or Railway Station, where you’ll be warmly welcomed by your URBNTRIP tour representative. You’ll then be transferred to your hotel for check-in and relaxation after your journey. The day is free for leisure — unwind at the hotel or stroll nearby to get a feel of the city’s spiritual calm.

After breakfast, begin your sacred journey with a visit to Lingaraj Temple, one of the oldest and most revered temples in Odisha, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Witness the intricate Kalinga architecture and morning Aarti rituals that fill the air with devotion. After darshan, drive to Puri, one of India’s four Char Dham destinations. On arrival, check in at your hotel and later visit the world-famous Shree Jagannath Temple for darshan of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra & Subhadra. Non-Hindus may view the temple from the Raghunandan Library rooftop nearby. End your day with a serene walk at Puri Beach, watching the sunset over the Bay of Bengal.

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Konark Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an architectural marvel dedicated to the Sun God. The temple’s 13th-century stone chariot structure depicts divine artistry and ancient Vedic symbolism. Later visit the pristine Chandrabhaga Beach, believed to have mythological significance as the site where the Sun God healed his son. Return to Puri by evening; optional visit to Gundicha Temple or time for spiritual reflection by the sea.

Early breakfast and transfer to the railway station to board the Satabdi Express to Kolkata (approx. 7 hrs). Enjoy comfortable seating, onboard meals, and the scenic journey through coastal plains. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and relax. In the evening, you may take an optional short visit to Esplanade for shopping or simply enjoy leisure time.

After an early breakfast, embark on a sacred drive towards Gangasagar, where the River Ganga meets the Bay of Bengal — one of India’s holiest pilgrimages. The journey includes a ferry crossing and short local transfers. On arrival, check in at your accommodation near the Mela site, soak in the devotional ambiance and interact with fellow pilgrims from across India.

Today is the most spiritually significant day of your journey. Wake early to participate in the Makar Sankranti Snan (holy bath) at the confluence of the sacred Ganga and the sea — believed to cleanse sins and grant divine blessings. Afterwards, visit the Kapil Muni Temple, where Lord Kapil is said to have meditated. Spend the rest of the day exploring the Gangasagar Mela, witnessing rituals, processions and devotional chants.

After breakfast, drive back to Kolkata. The evening visit Kalighat Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, where Goddess Kali is worshipped with immense reverence. Optionally, enjoy shopping at New Market or Gariahat for Bengali sarees, sweets and handicrafts.

After breakfast, board the Vande Bharat Express to Deoghar (approx. 6 hrs) — one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. On arrival, check in to your hotel and unwind. Evening at leisure.

Begin your day early to visit the sacred Baba Baidyanath Dham Temple, one of the most powerful Jyotirlingas in India. Devotees believe that offering prayers here fulfills wishes and brings spiritual healing. Also visit Basukinath Temple, associated with the Baidyanath legend, and the Satsang Ashram founded by Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra. Spend time in devotion, chanting or meditating in this peaceful town.

After breakfast, board your return Vande Bharat Express to Kolkata. On arrival, transfer to hotel and relax. In the evening, Ganga Aarti experience at Prinsep Ghat, witnessing priests performing rituals along the riverbank under glowing lamps.

After breakfast, visit the Dakshineswar Kali Temple, where Ramakrishna Paramahamsa attained spiritual enlightenment. Continue to Belur Math, the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Mission — a symbol of harmony between all faiths. Later, visit Victoria Memorial, Marble Palace, Howrah Bridge and the bustling College Street Book Market. Reflect on Kolkata’s divine energy and colonial charm as your pilgrimage nears completion.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Kolkata Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey. Take home sacred blessings from Lord Jagannath, Lord Shiva and Goddess Kali — and cherish the unforgettable memories of your Eastern India spiritual expedition.
