After some rest and freshening up, proceed to visit Jakhu Temple—believed to be the resting place of Lord Hanuman during his search for the Sanjivani herb in the Mahabharata. Later, explore the historic Viceregal Lodge, once the residence of the British Viceroy of India and now serving as an Institute of Advanced Studies. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 03 Kuffri Sightseeing

Upon arrival in Sangla, check in to your hotel. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 06 Sangla To Chitkul

After breakfast this morning, head out for an excursion to Chitkul – the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border, located just 20 km from Sangla. Nestled on the right bank of the Baspa River, Chitkul is known for its breathtaking views and serene charm. One of its main highlights is the revered temple of the local goddess, Chitkul Maathi, also known as Mata Devi. After soaking in the beauty and spirituality of the village, return to Sangla. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07 Chitkul To Kalpa

After a delicious breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin your scenic drive to Kalpa — the district headquarters of Kinnaur and once a favorite retreat of Lord Dalhousie. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and take some time to unwind. Formerly known as Chini, Kalpa was once the regional capital and has retained its old-world charm for over 500 years.

Legend has it that Lord Dalhousie would often escape the hustle of Shimla and ride here on horseback for peace and solitude. Kalpa offers stunning views of the majestic Jorkanden and Kinner Kailash peaks, believed to be one of the mythical abodes of Lord Shiva. Beside it stands a 79-foot rock formation resembling a Shivlinga that changes hues throughout the day and is clearly visible on a bright, sunny day.

Post lunch, relax at the hotel, and in the evening, pay a visit to the serene Hu Bu Lan Kar Buddhist Gompa. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 08 Kalpa Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, set out to explore the charming Kalpa village along with the nearby Roghi village, both nestled amidst dense pine forests and known for their lush orchards of apricots and apples. These villages offer the most breathtaking views of the majestic Mt. Kinner Kailash, towering at 6,000 meters. Witness a truly magical moment as the first rays of the sun illuminate the snow-capped peaks in hues of crimson and gold — a sight best experienced early in the morning.

Kalpa, perched at an altitude of 2,759 meters above sea level, lies on the historic Hindustan-Tibet Road, approximately 260 km from Shimla. Once the district headquarters of Kinnaur, Kalpa is now recognized as a heritage village, rich in culture and natural beauty. Its popularity rose after the visit of British Governor-General Lord Dalhousie in the 19th century.

Return to your hotel in Kalpa for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the serene beauty of the Himalayas.

Day 09 Kalpa To Nako

After a hearty breakfast, check out from your hotel in Kalpa and begin your scenic drive to Nako. En route, visit the serene Nako Lake, one of Kinnaur’s most enchanting hamlets. Nestled amidst the mountains, Nako is a quaint village poised to be recognized as a heritage site. Built around a tranquil lake, it is home to an ancient Buddhist Gompa and a small yet revered temple.

A unique highlight of Nako is a sacred rock bearing a footprint-like impression, believed to belong to the great Buddhist saint Guru Padmasambhava, adding a mystical charm to the village.

Day 10 Nako To Tabo

Begin your day early with a wholesome breakfast, followed by participation in the serene morning prayers at the renowned Tabo Monastery, founded in 996 AD. Revered across the Tibetan Buddhist world, Tabo is known as Chogs-Khor, meaning "Doctrinal Circle" or "Doctrinal Enclave."

This sacred complex houses 9 temples, 23 chortens, a monks' chamber, and a separate wing for the nuns. Perched above the monastery on a sheer cliff face are a series of ancient caves, once used as meditation dwellings by monks, complete with an assembly hall carved into the rock.

Tabo Monastery is a treasure trove of spiritual heritage, featuring ancient scriptures, exquisite wall paintings, stucco sculptures, and sacred art. A modern Gompa and a painting school established by His Holiness the Dalai Lama further enrich the spiritual and cultural significance of this extraordinary site.

Day 11 Tabo To Kaza

After an early breakfast, begin your scenic drive to Kaza, the vibrant capital of Spiti Valley. On the way, stop to explore Dhankar Gompa, the ancient capital of Spiti, dramatically perched atop a rugged cliff.

Once a fort and even a jail in the past, Dhankar offers panoramic views of the valley below and is now home to over 160 resident lamas. The highlight of this 7th-century monastery is the unique Dhyan Buddha statue, featuring four life-sized Buddhas seated back-to-back in meditative pose—a rare and serene sight.

Upon arrival in Kaza, check into your hotel. Enjoy a relaxing evening followed by dinner and an overnight stay amidst the peaceful vibes of the high Himalayas.

Day 12 Via Kunzum pass- Chandertal

After breakfast this morning, set out for an adventurous journey towards Kunzum Pass—one of the highest motorable mountain passes in the Kunzum range, perched at an elevation of 4,551 meters. This majestic pass serves as the gateway to Spiti Valley from Lahaul, offering breathtaking views of snow-clad peaks and rugged terrain.

At the summit, visit the sacred Kunzum Mata Temple, where Goddess Durga (Kunjum Devi) is believed to watch over the pass and protect travelers from harm.

After soaking in the divine atmosphere and stunning landscapes, continue to your campsite. Enjoy a warm dinner under the stars and spend the night amidst the serene Himalayan wilderness.

Day 13 Via Rohtang pass--Manali

Chandra Tal, also known as the “Lake of the Moon”, is nestled in the Himalayas at an altitude of approximately 4,300 meters (14,100 ft). The lake, with its crystal-clear waters and crescent shape, offers a surreal landscape that captivates every traveler. Visitors often take a circumambulation around the lake to seek blessings and soak in its spiritual vibe.

By afternoon, begin your scenic drive to Manali, passing through some of the most picturesque spots along the route—Rohtang Pass, Rani Nala, Marhi, Waterfalls, Gulaba, Kothi, Palchan, and Nehru Kund.

Arrive in Manali by evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 14 Manikaran

Continue your journey towards Manikaran, with a stop at the sacred Vaishno Devi Temple. Manikaran is a revered pilgrimage site, known for its Ram Temple and the historic Gurudwara, which features a natural hot water spring—hot enough to cook rice and lentils in just minutes, leaving every visitor amazed.

Return to Manali by 5 PM. Enjoy your evening at leisure, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
